The owners have close ties with the town of Glarus and the möbeliareal and are committed and enthusiastic about turning the site into a new, striking urban building block with a high quality of life. She has always attached particular importance to preserving the existing characteristic features, including many of the existing buildings, while at the same time opening it up and interweaving it with its surroundings in a targeted manner. The aim is to create a lively, mixed location where both work and a wide variety of residential and living concepts can find their place.
The nine Möbeli maxims
-
context, context, context!
The möbeliareal enriches and consolidates the urban fabric of Glarus. -
independent piece of the city
As a striking figure in the urban fabric, the möbeliareal is self-sufficient, but never autistic. -
functionality without ornamental value
The building and open space impress with their minimally invasive pragmatism. -
city? Urban development!
The urban space of the möbeliareal consists of more than a single cast. Its substance remains raw, robust and sustainable. -
revitalize the ground
Life takes place on the ground; people fill it with adventure, commitment and magic. -
identification thanks to land appropriation
Niches, corners and spaces in between are occupied by people. -
off to the center: concentration
Its center holds the möbeli conglomerate together. -
sufficiency guarantees individuality
Frugality makes you creative and enables personal appropriation. -
resilience creates quality
Whether demolition, conversion, construction, new construction or conversion: we trust the process. It makes the site diverse and flexible.
